Hi Bree,
My name is Jen. I was reading debauchette’s latest blog and saw the comment you posted on March 15th about sex workers. I think it’s incredibly succinct and insightful. I’m an undergrad student at UVic in British Columbia. I’m studying anthropology and am particularly interested in the rights of sex workers. I admire and respect what you said. I see the same perspective in BC, particularly with sex workers in the down town east side in Vancouver. It’s this rigid binary of victim or whore and no one takes the time to actually understand sex workers themselves.
So, I’m just leaving a comment to say thank you. It’s nice to see a perspective where sex workers aren’t considered victims in need of saving or whores, who are morally bankrupt.
